Methods

I use various strategies to plan and execute immersive, intuitive, and engaging experiences. I focus on understanding project goals, users, and stakeholders and including them early in the design process, helping to create effective and intuitive interfaces.

Plan → Learn → Explore → Design → Shape → Test → Improve

Understand your user base by utilizing quantitative data and qualitative insights. Create personas to help shape the experience and tell your story. Conduct a thorough competitive analysis. Use this knowledge and user feedback to continuously improve your designs.

Strategy

Design a comprehensive plan that prioritizes the needs and experiences of your users. From initial interaction to final engagement. Mapping it out in detail. Continuously refining the process through feedback and iterative improvements.

Ideation

Brainstorm and visualize different possibilities. Rapidly ideate to find the right combination. Include users early to help steer the visual direction, tracking what resonates most with the target audience and what excites them to increase engagement.

Design

Craft seamless and engaging user experiences by focusing on intuitive designs. Use user feedback to inform your projects' structure, interactions, and aesthetics. Implement best practices to ensure usability and deliver a superior experience.

All that sounds pretty good, yeah?

While these methods are essential, it's important to acknowledge that they're not always feasible and may not be achievable, especially on projects with extremely tight timelines. Sometimes all you have is empathy and creative intuition.

My career began in advertising and web development. In 2012, I transitioned to video games to apply foundational UX methodologies to game design. Over the years, I've worked at indie and AAA studios, constantly learning and experimenting with methods to create immersive virtual worlds.

Outside my professional roles and family life, I stay active by lifting weights, exploring creative concepts, practicing photography and studying generative AI to learn how it can speed up and adapt existing workflows. I enjoy movies, drawing with my kids, and playing the latest video games (when I can!).

I'm passionate about crafting engaging interactions that provide meaningful feedback, eliminate friction, and enhance user engagement through well-thought-out design strategies.

My name is Adam Doyle, and I'm seeking my next role in experience design. Previously, I was a Senior UI Artist and Senior UX Designer at Lost Boys Interactive and Playful Studios.
